ADAA (The Anxiety Disorders Association of America): A nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the prevention, treatment, and cure of anxiety disorders and to improve the lives of all people who suffer from them. www.adaa.org
NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness): The largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with serious mental illness and their families. This large site provides many resources for the general public as well as opportunities for advocacy. www.nami.org
NIMH: The National Institute of Mental Health seeks to reduce the burden of mental illness and behavioral disorders through research on mind, brain, and behavior. This site has a wealth of information about a range of mental health issues. www.nimh.nih.gov
Goodtherapy.org: A directory of counselors who practice client centered therapy (for more on this approach see my page titled Theoretical Orientation). This site also has many helpful articles about the therapy process. www.goodtherapy.org
